The opening ceremony was attended by industry peers, banking partners, advisors, manufacturers, and law firms, indicating the strong support and interest from Japan’s renewable energy ecosystem.

The group has long maintained strong relationships with Japanese stakeholders, and the launch of Virya Energy in Japan is a significantly strengthened commitment to Japan’s renewable energy transition. The new entity enables Virya Energy to develop and operate high‑quality renewable energy assets through a locally led structure, ensuring strong governance, technical expertise, and long‑term presence in the country.  Virya Energy already has an operating solar project in Japan under a corporate power purchase agreement (PPA), demonstrating its proven ability to develop, own, and operate bankable renewable energy assets in the country.

Through Japan, the company will advance responsible, well‑integrated renewable solutions across wind, solar, and emerging technologies such as green hydrogen, supporting Japan’s accelerating push toward decarbonisation.

Tetsuya Oura, Managing Director of Virya Energy in Japan, said:
“We are pleased to announce our office opening this time as a responsible, long-term renewable energy solution provider under the brand name of Virya Energy from Belgium. We are really grateful for many of our stakeholders coming to celebrate this memorable event as well as our colleagues coming from Asia, headed by Franck Constant, CEO of Virya Energy in Asia. Virya Energy aims to deliver “fit for purpose energy” by establishing a strategic presence along the whole value chain of sustainable energy. I am proud to announce our commitment to Japan renewable energy market in this way. We are excited to start our new chapter in Japan to contribute to our greener future.”

Munib Siddiqi, Managing Director of Virya Energy in Japan, added:
“We are excited to unite our team’s experience in the Japanese renewable sector with the global expertise of Virya Energy, our sister company Constant Energy, and our wider network. Together, we are building a platform capable of delivering high‑quality, responsible, and impactful renewable energy projects across Japan. With its strong technical capabilities and rising demand for clean, reliable energy solutions, Japan offers exceptional opportunities for long‑term renewable development.”

Franck Constant, CEO of Virya Energy in Asia, said: “Virya Energy and Constant Energy have built their growth on a simple principle: we do not come to a market for short‑term opportunities, but to build something durable, local, and trusted. Japan is a sophisticated, demanding, and forward‑looking energy market. I would like to express my sincere thanks to the Japan team for the tremendous work that has gone into making this possible, and to our partners and colleagues across Asia and Europe who have supported this journey.”

Virya Japan 1000 KK continues to advance its project development activities, supported by a pipeline of over 100 MWp that reflects consistent progress and Virya Energy’s long-term commitment to Japan’s renewable energy transition.
